feeding them or cleaning tanks... Sometimes we could be teaching school kids about
fish farming... chefin' for a group... or really any multiple of things...

Therefore we are open "casually" as to not disappoint folks who may expect another
kind of service...
If your visit requires immediacy or certain kinds of attention it may be best to call ahead.

During the times of year when folks are likely to be out and about we tend to limit our
weekend chores, build a welcoming fire and make ourselves better available. 
This happens often and especially over our early spring season (April - May)...
later fall season (Oct. - Nov.)... and around the holidays...

Want to Picnic, eat lunch pondside, or relax with a cold drink? You bet!

Now with the Bullfrog’s Family Beer and Beverage Garden… 

Our farm is just 2 miles NE of the Dunnville bridge on county Y. 

(Co. Rd. Y and Bullfrog Road / 566st.) This trail follows the abandoned

Milwaukee Road Railroad right-of-way along the Red Cedar River. 14.5 miles

of well maintained trail made for excellent hiking, biking and cross-country skiing.

The scenic journey along the trail often allows views of many types of wildlife

including bald eagles and ospreys as well as a rich history from the by gone

logging era. Access to the trail are at Menomonie, Downsville and the Dunnville bridge.

Fish Farm Tour- This is an enjoyable learning experience catching a glimpse of what Fish Farming is about in Dunn County Wisconsin… While our tour is flexible and adapts itself to all ages and interests, it generally covers basic information relating to water resource, farming practice, food handling, business and lifestyle choice.

Folks are always curious and enjoy the interaction with the farm crew!

 

A Fishin’ Good Time- Experience the magic and belly laughs of fishin’ ‘round the pond with friends and family… Depending on size of group, time allotted or the group’s preference, this fishing experience will vary and is negotiated ahead… This is a great time for picture taking! Most often- Fish caught will then be taken to the cleaning station where you can watch them being cleaned, cut and made ready for the cookin’ shack.

 

Smoked Trout & Fruit Platter- Our most typical platter will have plenty of fruit, smokin’ GOOD Trout Fillets, our Famous Smoked Trout Spread & crackers… Other items can be included by request. This is usually served during or just after we fish and while the trout are being cleaned and grilled…

                            

Hobo Chefin’… Shorelunch- The meal of low expectations and big surprises… This is all done at our outdoor cookin’ shack… folks can watch or maybe even pitch in… Side dishes will vary with the season… might be sweet corn, grilled toast & crayfish or specialty rice etc… Food is served as it comes off the grill and is done “family style”…

 

Hang time- The main fire pit will be smokin’… We have a large screened roof and eating area that shades and protects us from most kinds of weather… tunes on the music box and the ponds to wonder about…

 

Bullfrog’s Family Beer & Beverage Garden- All beverages and incidental snacks are usuallyon a cash basis to the individuals of the group… or by a common tab…

 

Other items or requests are also negotiable- desserts, food items, portion sizes, fishing contests, activities such as hayrides, entertainment…Just ask and we’ll see what we can do…
